Granola with dried berries
Start the new year with homemade granola rich in proteins, dietary fiber, vitamins and minerals. By making your own granola, you avoid a lot of sugar, while at the same time you can choose ingredients adapted to your own taste. You can mix in ingredients that provide long-lasting energy and stable blood sugar, such as oatmeal, nuts, seeds and dried berries. If you also choose organic ingredients, you avoid ingredients that are exposed to chemicals.
We recommend trying this recipe for homemade granola—meal prep on Sunday and have breakfast ready for the rest of the family all week.
Recipe
(1 kg granola)
500g Oatmeal (large rolled oats)
20g Dried berries (Choose your favourites)
100g Sunflower seeds
100g Pumpkin seeds
100g Sesame seeds
100g Flax seeds
2 tsp salt
200g Honey (If extra sweetening, add 4 tbsp brown sugar)
300g Roughly chopped nuts
2 dl fruit juice
4 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
1. Pour all dry ingredients into a bowl and mix them
2. Add juice, oil and honey to a small saucepan and heat gently until the honey melts.
3. Pour the mixture from the saucepan into the bowl and mix all ingredients well. Let the mixture stand for 30 minutes so the large oat grains can absorb the liquid.
4. Pour the mixture onto a baking tray and spread it out in an even layer.
5. Bake in the middle of the oven at 140 °C for approximately 1 hour. Turn the mixture every 15 minutes to ensure even cooking. Then cool the mixture. Then pour the mixture into a tight glass. Granola lasts up to 1 month when stored at room temperature.
