Lingonberries are a wonderful ingredient in smoothies and also contain a number of health-promoting substances, such as vitamin-E, vitamin-C and fruit acid. Lingonberries are therefore a great ingredient that helps with cell renewal and helps skin to look fresh and glowy. Lingonberry also contains benzoic acid and significant amounts of salicylic acid, which have been used in folk medicine for a long time both as pain relievers and against colds. If you don’t have lingonberries in the freezer, organic berry powder is a very good alternative. We have used Arctic Botanics organic lingonberry powder in the recipe.
